	This is one of the simple, interesting things one can do with water etching. The plate is sprayed with brown slip, then a design is painted free-hand using liquid wax and a fine brush. A quick spray with water washes away the slip, except where it is protected by the wax. Magic! Now you have the pattern in place,  ready to be covered in clear glaze.
